436 Amy Court is located on a cul de sac on the southwest corner of town, bordering Solar Ranches.  Welcome, this is the front door.

This is the entry hall.  The interior wood is pine 1x4 and 1x6 tongue and groove.  The built in entry benches are matching paneling with custum hickory tops. The trim is custum Doug Fir which matches the timberframe as does the bottom newel post at the stairs.  The railings are reclaimed oak.

This photo shows the stairs from the entry way.  They are open tread, Doug Fir which matches the timberframe.  The treads are let into the stringers and have six coats of Bioshield floor resin sealer.

The railing ballisters are twisted steel.  The walls are local pine tongue and groove alternating between two courses of 1x4 and a single of 1x6.

The floor is scored and grouted concrete with paint, stain, sealer and then polished.  There is a built in bench on the left with a hinged hickory lid that matches the office desktop and hood.  On the left is the entry closet with by-pass doors.

This photo shows the entry bench with the hickory lid open.  The vertical trim is black steel which matches the stair ballisters and the hood trim.  The window, door and ceiling trim as well as baseboard is custum milled Doug Fir which matches the timberframe and the stairs. The windows have custom Doug Fir sill extensions.

The windows are metal wood clad and are made my Semco.  The majority are casement though some as in the entry are double sliders.   The closet doors are four panel pine as are all the interior doors.  The ceiling lid is 1x6 tongue and groove of local pine that matches the walls wood creating an extremely warm ambiance .  The lights are recessed cans throughout the Entry Hall, Kitchen and Living Room. The electrical was done by the highly recommended Silver Mountain Wireworks, located in Ridgway.

Across from the entry closet is an office desk.  The beautiful hickory top matches the bench tops and kitchen hood.  The cabinets are high end rustic hickory which match the Kitchen and bath cabinets. To the left is the Garage door.  Speaker wires from the Living Room and all Bedrooms lead to the structural wiring control panel (which opens into the garage and is located above the desk)and then run into the upper cabinet.

The office desk with a close up of the incredible desktop and the roll out keyboard tray. The structural wiring includes phone and ethernet cat5 and coax to the Kitchen, Living Room and all Bedrooms.  The office is intended to be the computer, wireless and entertainment center for the house .  Coax is already installed to the satillite dish location.

Across the hall from the garage door and next to the Downstairs Bedroom is the full Downstairs Bath.  The cabinet is matching rustic hickory with a composite countertop and bamboo mirror that matches the other baths.

This shows the closet and east wall of the Downstairs Bedroom.  There is a blank plate for a volumn control and 14/4 monster cable speaker wire is pulled to the downstairs office area.  From the volumn control location two seprate  14 gauge monster cable speaker wires are in place for in-ceiling speakers.  All bedrooms are wired for phone, ethernet and coax.

This shows the entry with the office on the left and the entry closet on the right. The wood creates a unique and comfortably warm feeling.  Immediately one can sense this is not a typical american tract built house, but a custom home  ready for a family.

The Entry Hall leads directly into the Kitchen, where the wall wood ends.  All drywall throught the house is 5/8 inch thick which creates a more solid feel when closing doors, moving furniture or even walking. There is a custom hanging pot rack which matches the black metal vertical corner trim and hood trim.  The hood is again custom hickory , the high end cabinets are rustic hickory and the countertops are thick marble.  The office is in the background.

This shows the range side of the kitchen with the custom hood.  The downstairs Bath and Bedroom are to the right .  The stove is  a GE smoothtop electric.

This photo was taken from the Bedroom Hall with the Garage door to the left and the Downstairs Bathroom door to the right.  The pantry has matching cabinets and granite countertop.  The Refrigerator is a French Door bottom freezer Amana with cabinets above.  There is glazing in the two outer uppers and task lighting for the pantry.  The entry closet is to the left.

This shows the kitchen with the refrigerator to the left, the dishwasher, double Moenstone sink with sprayer faucet and extensive granite countertop.  The square feet of granite is huge with the penisula and pantry in addition to the two stove side counters.  The uppers on either side of the sink are glazed.  Again one can see the sill extensions on the windows.  The cabinets also have hickory crown molding.

This is a close up of the sink area.  The peninsula separates the Kitchen from the Dining Room.  There is task lighting over the peninsula and hickory shelves that face the Dining Room.

This is a close up of the Stove area with the cabinet uppers and black metal trim on the hood.

This is a close up of the Pantry showing extra outlets cut into the tall granite backsplash, and  two double stacks of drawers. The kitchen has extensive storage as well as a very large square footage of countertop.

This shows off the kitchen cabinetry and again extra outlets at countertop level cut into the granite backsplashes. There is a blank receptical cover for the volume control which is connected to the Great Room in-ceiling speakers.  These are installed and made by Polk.

The peninsula cabinet has pass-through doors into the Dining Room.  The polished concrete floor ends at the Kitchen, with Bamboo hardwood laid beyond.

To the right of the sink in the lower cabinet are double pull-out trash and recycling bins.  The lighting pendants are blown glass.  There is an electrical outlet under the counter at the end of the peninsula.  There is also phone, ethernet and coax for television in this corner of the Dining Room next to the penisula.

This shows the open floor plan between the Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room to the left.

This photo was taken from the Dining Room.  It shows the Bamboo floor and Kitchen Living Room interface. The change is floor finish creates a feeling of two seperate spaces, while maintaining the open, social floor plan.

This shows the southeast corner of the house from the outside.  The garden bay window sticks out to the east and extensive glazing faces south.

This shows the Dining room which is on the southeast corner of the house.  There is a large garden bay window facing to the east.  The right hand of the double french doors is the typically operable one.  The view to the south is framed by the timberframe upstairs deck framing and the view is of spectacular mountains looking across the Solar Ranch Open Space.   Deer and elk regularly bed-down here and when there is snow, in winter, cross country ski tracks often cross the meadow.

The Great Room as seen from the Dining Room.  The timberframe rafters are let-in above and  the posts dramatically come into the room.  Again, the windows have sill extensions, the Living Room has recessed lighting in the wood ceiling and the timberframe is structural and oak pegged.

The Doug Fir posts create separate spaces in the open floor plan.  There is a cable track light across the ceiling of the Great Room.  The center post beam intersection is done by use of an oak free tenon which once pounded into place locks the three large pieces of wood together with beauty and integrity.  This is the centerpiece of the house. Again, every corner has phone, ethernet and coax.

The ceiling of the Great Room has two skylights.  Next to these are set two in-ceiling Polk speakers which are wired to a volume control at the Living Room/Kitchen corner and then to the office desk in the entry hall.  The central post has three braces mortise and tenoned and again held together with oak pegs.  The views to the south  from the windows is spectacular.

This view is from the Living Room/Kitchen corner.  The drywall between the timberframe posts creates a wonderful contrast and sets the wood apart.  The west wall of the Living Room is plumbed for a free standing gas stove if desired.

All of the interior walls and the ceiling between floors have sound insulation and the floor joists are engineered  I-beams. The bamboo floor is glueless click-together and floating which allows for expansion due to the in-floor heating system. The concrete slab is 9-10 inches thick which acts as a heat sink for the solar system.

Back at the entry the stairs lead up to the second floor.  The walls between the Garage and  living spaces have blown cellulous insulation and the garage ceiling is doubled 5/8" drywall for firecode.

The stairs lead to the second floor. This is the end of the first floor tour, please continue to the second floor tour for photos of the Upstairs Hall, Bonus Room, Mechanical, Laundry, Storage, Upstairs Bathroom as well as Master Bedroom and Master Bath..
